Challenge:
To increase productivity, reduce downtimes, and contain maintenance costs.
Solution:
After analyzing the machinery in place at the Schneider Electric plant and its levels of productivity and automation, DANOBAT proposed the following improvements:
- replacing the two punching machines by more precise units with larger work areas;
- incorporating a panel bender to automatically handle and bend larger panels;
- and finally incorporating a combined punching & shearing system to make the most of materials and adapt production to short runs.
Results:
With these changes, Schneider Electric obtained a major increase in its productivity and quality levels which led to record-beating figures for delivery times and substantial dividends for the company.
