LBR iisy makes robotics and automation easy – from setup to teaching to service

With the lightweight cobots of the LBR iisy series, robotics becomes easy – because it can be commissioned in just a few minutes , even without prior knowledge of robotics or programming skills. This is made possible by the new, easy and intuitive to use KUKA operating system iiQKA.OS .

Together with the LBR iisy version with a payload of 3 kg, which is also available as a series product, the new “big iisys” are the first robots to run on iiQKA.OS. Typical fields of application for the collaborating robots of the LBR iisy series are the flexible automation of pick & place, assembly, testing and handling tasks as well as the loading and unloading of machines. All cobot robots of the LBR iisy series are suitable for industrial use, impress with a very good price-performance ratio and offer the full KUKA service.

LBR iisy stands for an “Easy Customer Experience”

First- class hardware meets intuitive software: In combination with the new iiQKA.OS, the LBR iisy series stands for a completely new robotics experience. The cobots are ready for use in less than 90 minutes – and the programming using drag-and-drop functions , the pleasant teaching via the ergonomic commander and the control via the smartPAD pro make robotics easier and quicker than ever.

The joint torque sensors of the cobots enable operation without a protective fence, facilitate teaching by hand and, if desired, safe cooperation and collaboration between humans and robots . Small and medium-sized companies in particular benefit from the quick commissioning of the LBR iisy without a great deal of integration effort and without special know-how.

The LBR iisy cobots enable the development of new applications for automation. Due to the simple manual control, it is perfectly suited for medium-sized and small companies.

Higher payloads, greater range, more freedom: LBR iisy 11 kg and LBR iisy 15 kg

The payloads of the two new LBR iisy variants are 11 and 15 kg. The ranges are 1,300 or 930 mm. Both robots can be mounted on the floor, ceiling or wall and achieve protection class IP54 . This protects them from dust and moisture.

In addition, human safety is a top priority when automating with the LBR iisy cobots: from the injury-preventing design to the use of the safety functions of the robot system. The collaborating robots are controlled by the space-saving KR C5 micro , which allows the robot system to be operated under 230 volts, making the possible uses even more flexible. In the KUKA Marketplace  , the cobot manufacturer KUKA offers accessories that are perfectly matched to the entire system . These include, for example, grippers or vision sensors for various automation applications.

An LBR iisy is taught by hand

In contrast to classic industrial robots, cobots are used to supplement human work. Automation is quicker and easier with the teaching by hand function.
