Blechexpo 2021: TRUMPF showcases technology trends for more efficient sheet metal processing

879

At Blechexpo, TRUMPF will showcase new solutions for sheet metal production. These include technologies from the fields of automation and digitalization, which allow processes to be organized much more efficiently before and after machining. “Unproductive secondary activities account for 80 percent of the throughput time of order. Even simple automation solutions increase manufacturing efficiency enormously. Companies can better utilize their machines and increase their productivity. As a solution provider for networked manufacturing, we can make a significant improvement in this regard,” says Stephan Mayer, CEO of Machine Tools at TRUMPF.

In addition to networked machines, software, and services, the high-tech company will also present a solution at Blechexpo that automatically prepares parts for welding while they are still being cut. TRUMPF will also be showing for the first time a compact, fully automated swivel bending machine that can process even thick sheets effortlessly. At the world’s leading trade fair for sheet metal processing, the company will also demonstrate how entry-level solutions can be used to set up and network existing machine parks for the future.

Digitalization enables innovations in service

At Blechexpo, TRUMPF will present how companies can gain competitive advantages through networked solutions across the entire sheet metal process chain. For example, the high-tech company will showcase digital assistants that use artificial intelligence to provide employees with even better support, such as when sorting sheet metal parts. Existing machinery can also be made fit for the future by retrofitting. The company is also showing a “service app” that helps employees in service cases, for example, with automatic spare parts recognition, digital instructions or live support with video function from TRUMPF customer service on-site.
