The KR CYBERTECH nano ARC  product family sets new standards: The new generation of robots from KUKA is extremely agile, extremely fast, and even more precise when traveling by rail than its predecessor. The further developed KUKA Hollow-Wrist-Hand – a 50-millimeter hollow-shaft hand – reduces the basic axis movement and ensures short cycle times with maximum movement precision. The new hollow wrist robots from KUKA offer a repeat accuracy of 0.04 millimeters even at high speeds. This is what the KR CYBERTECH nano ARC hollow-shaft robot does proven experts for applications that call for maximum precision and path accuracies – such as gas-shielded welding and the application of adhesives or sealants.

Lowest maintenance effort in the low payload class

The series is characterized by a long service life and the least amount of maintenance required in the low payload class. For users, the total cost of ownership (TCO) is reduced to a minimum. This also includes low operating costs thanks to maximum availability and reduced energy consumption compared to its predecessor. In addition to the drive and control technology, service and maintenance costs have been optimized. For example, individual axes are completely maintenance-free, and spare parts are available for up to 25 years.

Small footprint, wide range of options

Due to the small space requirement and the diverse assembly options, the hollow-shaft robots are also suitable for compact cells, for complex tasks, and in demanding process chains. The innovative “K-PIPE-ES” energy supply concept, which KUKA customers are already familiar with from higher payload classes, provides additional flexibility. The separate feed of the system and application cabling makes the integration into the production environment even easier and the equipment of the energy supply more flexible. Additional axes and the new positioning generation can be added more easily to the configuration.

Welcome in the family

The KR CYBERTECH nano series latest generation includes, in addition to the hollow shaft robots of the KR CYBERTECH nano ARC family (ARC-focus) and wrist versions (handling focus, also for railway applications suitable). With the digital KUKA.Motion Modes, the performance of the robots can be adapted to various tasks via the controller, with the “Dynamic Mode” for example for even greater dynamics with reduced cycle times. The ” Path Mode” is even standing in the hollow shaft robots, together with a so-called absolutely precise measurement for application-optimized path travel. Both options are also available for the in-line hand robots.

High path accuracy: best results right from the start

“We developed the series specifically for the latest KR C5 control generation from KUKA, which exploits the full potential of our new overall system,” says Markus Hollfelder-Asam, Portfolio Manager at KUKA. “The integration of the KR CYBERTECH nano is very easy for companies thanks to the uniform mounting surfaces of the accessories and the identical footprint of the predecessor .”

The product series also scores with standard protection against dust and water according to IP 54 for the hollow-shaft robots and even IP 65/67 (basic axis/wrist axis) for the in-line hand robots.
