EOS founds end-to-end production network

  • New partner network brings start-ups, medium-sized companies, and OEMs together with certified companies so that they can bring 3D-printed components to market quickly and with high quality
  • EOS announces Prototal Industries, Scandinavia’s largest additive manufacturing company, as its first partner

EOS, a constant driver of innovation and a leader in sustainable manufacturing using industrial 3D printing, announces the establishment of a new end-to-end manufacturing network serving companies of all sizes looking for world-class support in the additive series manufacturing (AM) with selected, certified EOS partners. Prototal  Industries, Scandinavia’s largest and most specialized additive manufacturing company, is the first contract manufacturer to join the network.

EOS is thus expanding its existing contract manufacturing network to include the urgently needed end-to-end production component. To be accepted as a partner in the network, companies go through a certification process based on their end-to-end offering. The underlying most important criteria range from component design to design optimization for AM, the actual manufacturing, pre-and post-processing including surface treatment to quality assurance and assembly in order to mass-produce high-quality end parts.

Companies joining the new EOS network have a deep understanding of the demands of series production and have proven their excellence in all production steps. They enable companies looking for a partner to realize additive manufacturing (AM) on an industrial scale in a variety of industries and to scale them further if desired.

Find the right partner for serial AM solutions

From start-ups to small and medium-sized companies to OEMs, implementing products on a large scale can be a challenging experience, especially when working in a certified industry or aiming for high-volume production that does not compromise on the quality of the end product or the world sales is received. Once the right AM solution is found, one of the biggest hurdles can be finding the right manufacturing method and deciding how to organize part production.

EOS not only supports companies in deciding on the best application and technology framework, but also advises them on the question of whether in-house or external production makes more sense. When an outside manufacturing partner is the best choice, there are other important considerations. Companies not only need partners who are solidly positioned and can produce high-quality 3D printed parts at scale. They should work together with the end customer to implement the right product and have the necessary experience to bring products to market.

EOS’ end-to-end manufacturing network partners can help companies mitigate these risks and move quickly to mass production of serial parts. Network partners can bring their expertise across a range of manufacturing technologies to help companies ramp up production quickly, ensure consistent quality standards and support every aspect of end-to-end production.

Based on more than 30 years of experience, we offer comprehensive additive manufacturing solutions and know the market requirements for AM series production. With this network, we want to create added value for both sides – for the providers of manufacturing services and for the customers.

In this way, companies can minimize complexity and risk when selecting a manufacturing partner in the area of series production, while at the same time relying on the most innovative product design. They will be able to bring products to market faster based on the latest 3D printing technologies and will be able to draw on the vertical industry knowledge and know-how within the network.

There are many industry standards and ratings designed to increase customer confidence in a manufacturer’s abilities, but typically a sourcing company that needs parts has to find this out for themselves. Customers who decide to work with a member of the EOS end-to-end production network can rest assured that each manufacturing partner has been evaluated using a catalog of criteria from EOS, is financially sound and competent, and also has crucial industry and application knowledge -Know-how, especially with regard to highly certified sectors such as aviation, automotive and medical technology.

The first member of EOS’ end-to-end manufacturing network is Prototal, Northern Europe’s largest industrial 3D printing, vacuum casting, aluminum tooling, and injection molding supplier. The company has been an EOS customer for more than 20 years. With its many years of AM expertise and more than 50 EOS polymer systems at different locations, Prototal offers end-to-end additive manufacturing capacities for high-volume production and for demanding and highly regulated industries such as aerospace, medical technology, and automotive engineering.

We are very proud to become the first partner of the EOS end-to-end production network of EOS. At our various locations in Europe, Prototal Industries has built up the competence and knowledge for additive manufacturing of larger series over many years.

The future for this technology is bright, especially in terms of further automation and more sustainable production. Indeed, 3D printing is a production method with great advantages. And EOS is one of our most valuable partners.
